writes: Recently I found out my husband spent $7,000 on shirts, T-shirts, undershirts and briefs claiming "they were collectible and have a classic design!".I knew he liked his fashion and clothes, and nothing wrong with that - but taking it to this extreme?? It does seem worrying. We do have a good lifestyle, but are not wealthy or super-rich. There's wardrobes full of them in our house, hanging up, unworn, all in plain colours - red, green, blue, white etc.My husband complains he never has any nice clothes to wear but I've told him to wear what's in his wardrobe but he refuses to wear any of them - claiming "it's a collector's dream, sell it on Ebay and I'll make loads of money!"He's been going out buying more and more of them - and I'm worried we're going to get into debt.I've discussed it with him but he insists I should "lighten up and stop being such a wet blanket".where do I go next?? I've suggested counselling but he said "don't be silly!" i thought about what to do and decided that a) playing him at his own game would just be silly b)he should get help, where I don't know c)what should I do with the clothes?? there's hundreds and hundreds of them!all help is much appreciated. i really don't know how to deal with this.

Your Husband has a disease, it's called Materialism and the disease comes in all shapes, sizes and forms, from the notch on ones genitals to the car in the garage to the money in the bank. I knew of an old lady who staved to death with 80,ooo dollars in her mattress. She starved to death because she couldn't spend her money. I don't see much difference in her greed as in your husband's spending money on clothe that he'll never wear.
