I thought she would be the one I'd be with, and hopefully (a few years in the future of course) be the one I'd go on and marry. It just wasn't meant to be in the end, but now it looks as if romance that I don't have is being thrown at me from all directions. There's no where to escape from this, so can anybody advise me as to how I should handle it?

Just look at people falling in love, and insead of generating jealous feelings be happy for them that they have found love. Ok so you have loved & lost, and thats better than never loved atal. If you have been in love before then the likellhood is you will again. But for now be happy for others that are in love, and enjoy being single for a while. Go out with friends, have fun, and i bet you will meet someone to love again when you are least expecting it.
Take care
