 Yeh i agree with Friend Tom, if it's been there for a while however it might just be a birth mark but you never noticed it.

reader, anonymous, writes (6 January 2008): Can't really say. If there is no itching or pain as in a rash, it may just be a passing thing. You don't say exactly how long it has been there. Are you a "jock"? i.e., are you athletic. You may just not be taking good care "down there". Always wash thoroughly and use a talcum powder to reduce friction before a workout or game. If it doesn't clear up soon, you might ask a doc about it. It does not sound serious to me. I had a few "red spots" myself off and on.
