Do anyone have any suggestions on keeping a one and two year old busy in the house. Example: any fun in the house games?

A female reader, Aunty Haly +, writes (18 December 2006):

Hi there i know what you mean as i have a 3 year old and trying to keep him entertained is a job in itself. The thing with children is they love to please adults and the absolutely love to play house, my son loves nothing more than helping me out with the chores, if i make it fun. Try making a human chain with them, gather up the washing and you throw it to one of them and then they throw it to the other one who puts it in the washing machine, it may take longer but your teaching them a valuable lesson for helping out. try also (my son loves this) having a who can wash the cupboard door the quickest, since you have two little helpers they can be doing this whilst you do something else. The early learing centre seklls fab kids cleaning trolly's so they can help you out and its fun to them, let them sweep the floor and other various stuff then when your done, take them to the park to say thank you for being wonderful children and for helping mommy out. Now my son is 3 i give him 10p for each little job he does and he loves saving it up to buy cars.

Good Luck and if all else fails buy a cheap roll of wallpaper and some crayons, roll it out, strip the kids down to diapers and let them have tickily fun drawing around eack other as this learns then valuable pen control and hand eye coordination.
