you sound like such a decent guy, first i've heard a guy actually caring about what happens on the girls behalf.
if i were you i would just tell her, because that's all you can do really, and i think if the girl was to find out that her friend is the reason you arn't with her, that might screw them up anyway. so just tell her.

My advice, talk to the one you really like, let her know how you feel. You already know that she likes you too, so that's the easy part. The hard part is that she would need to communicate with her friend, since her feelings are involved for the same guy. I had a situation like that once, but it was with my cousin. We both liked this guy and he liked my cousin more. After I knew that, I was ok with them dating. In fact, I got over him in no time and was on to the next one. After all,true friends won't let a man come between them - whichever way the coin falls.
