I don't know if it was because he was thrusting too, but i couldn't do anything. I felt really bad because i wanted to do this for him as he is usually doing all the work!Any tips or advice would be great!

Oh, and I like to lean a bit forward and grab at his chest for support. You can also try leaning backwards and support yourself on the bed or on his legs, and then have him do the thrusting. There are many different ways to do this, just experiment. And move slow, so that none of you are injured.

He needs to lie still until you can find a good position for you to move in. After you've gotten comfortable he can start thrusting lightly, and YOU need to be the one who controls how hard and how fast he thrusts. Being on top means you are in charge.

Being on top isn't like the way it looks in porn where you straddle him and sit perpendicular. You can do it, where you have your legs folded under you and can rock back and forth, but that's pretty exhausting.
The easiest way to do it imo is to lean forward and put your hands on the bed. It's kind of like being in a dog position, but with your knees folded so you are "sitting." Another easy way to do it is to to lean forward like I said, but to also extend your legs behind you so you're basically lying on him and using your arms and legs to move. Both are easier ways to do it than sitting straight up.

In my experience, it is a matter of position. Place your knees forward and pump up and down with your hips. All this is difficult to describe. There are also different positions "on top." It can be reversed, for instance. I think that practice makes perfect.
