A female , anonymous writes:

I have a male hairdresser and is he touchy feely ie touches my shoulders when talking to me and every time I leave the salon he gives me a hug goodbye.

Should I be bothered by it or would you think he is gay or just genuinely friendly to me.

person12345 agony auntI wouldn't worry... Most hairdressers I've known are pretty "touchy feely" and sometimes give me scalp rubs or shoulder rubs or whatever. It doesn't seem to vary from male to female. Unless you sense he's coming onto you or it makes you uncomfortable, I would just assume he's being friendly. He's already touching your head a lot while cutting your hair. Some people are just touchy feely. Obviously if it starts to make you uncomfortable, you can always just tell him it does. This might make future haircuts awkward though.
