writes: i am still living at home with my parents,but no one is really at home because my father travels with his job. my mother takes care of her parents at their home.so i have been told you are too old to be living at home and no one will date you if you don't have your own place.is this true? is this a turn off to girls?

reader, anonymous, writes (20 January 2009): Like she said below, yeah, it can be for some. I wouldn't mind either. I really think though, that those type of people aren't worth your time anyway. They judge you way too quickly and you don't want friends or a girlfriend/boyfriend like that. You want one that is understanding of your situation. Just as long as you're not a bum and you're working, or working towards something, like you have ambitions in your life, I think that bring a good impression not just with your potential mate, but everyone else.

Yea, sometimes it is. I mean, if you are still in college or something like that, then it's cool. Women just want to know you are independant and if you are a young twenty something year old guy still living at home they sometimes think something is wrong.

reader, anonymous, writes (20 January 2009): It only really matters to superficial women, of which there are a lot. Any woman that see's it as a turn off is an idiot and not worth your time and effort anyway.
It also kinda depends on your reasons for still living at home. A lot of women see guys your age still living at home as either lazy or cheap.
I still live at home at 28 to take care of my disabled mom both physically and financially. I've met women that thought I was loser for still living at home and I've met girls that it didn't bother. For some reason it doesn't work the other way around, there's no stigma attached to a woman still living at home in her 20's.
