What can I do? I met my rival in my girlfriend's house. The rival was about to fight with me. But, I show a big understanding to him by lying to him that we are just ordinary friends, just to avoid fighting each other.

What I did, was right? If yes, please advise me for future occurence. If no, also advise what to do for future occurence.

Devil's Advocate agony auntFirstly, what was he doing in her house? How much of a rival is he? Are you the only one doing the horizontal mambo with her?

Lying to him doesn't really matter to anyone except you and your girlfriend. You may always feel on the run from him and she might think you are a woos for not standing up to him and possibly worse, think that you have poo-pooed your relationship with her.

Be a man! Tell him the truth and if he still wants to fight, beat the crap out of him, or at least try. Both your girlfriend and you will have more respect for you.
