reader, anonymous, writes (8 May 2010): Three years is a long time to wait. There must be something wrong or it would have been one of the first things he would have done,when he started a relationship with you. Withhold all forms of sex until hes got himself checked. You arent asking for much.

He is in a high risk group and you won't know if he has STD's.
Play by the rules or you will regret .
It is better to be safe than sorry.
If he loves you he should take the test .

What is his reason for refusing? That old saying guilty people have much to hide comes to mind. If he's refusing to do this I wouldn't sleep with him.
