The other night after talking with her for a few minutes I popped the question and asked if I could call her sometime. She said yes, but when I asked her for her number she immediately changed her answer to 'maybe'... ?? I jokingly rolled my eyes at her and said have a good night lol... I always go there, I have no issues talking to girls, and regardless of the fact that she awkwardly turned me down for a number exchange, I will be back there tomorrow to get my coffee. Shes going across the country for Christmas for a few days, and I was debating leaving her with a nice card with my number before she goes. She's very cool, we get along, I think she might just be a little intimidated, possibly because I'm older than her. Any ideas?

I just met you and this is crazy. But here's my number xxx-xxx-xxxx
So call me maybe?
And then if she giggles, ask her if you can have her number too.

A card is a good idea. But if she's a little shy it may be pointless. So think of what you'd do if she doesn't call you before you decide on how to give your number to her. If you do it the wrong way it may be awkward to ask again.

One important question to ask yourself here, what was her body language like when she switched to a maybe? Was it flirty and playfully? This could indicate that she is playing hard to get and likes the thrill of being chased. In thus case she will most likely give you her number, but you may need to ask a few times. Was she more shy and retiring when she said maybe? This could indicate that she said yes to continue the light hearted flurry banter and when you upped the game, it became a bit more real than that, so she backed off.Personally if I saw flirtatious and cheeky body language, I would hold of for a while (Desperation just isn't attractive to Women) continue with the banter and then ask again "so when are you going to give me that number of yours then" and then go from there. If I got a shy and retiring response, then a card with my number takes the edge off and allows her to relax. That way the ball is in her court and she can call me if she is comfortable in getting to know me more.
