Third time a charm or a bust?

I have a dilemma regarding an ex. We were together first 9 years ago, but broke up as he was still in the closet. I'm 10 years older as well. 3 years later he called to tell me that he wanted to try again. I went back and he broke up with me this time; for what, I'm still not sure. Cut to six years later, I am in a different state finishing my degree. I have never stopped loving him in all these years. A week ago I friended him on FB, and he wrote me a long email stating he was sorry for being so stupid; that he never got over me, and has compared me to everyone else. He said that he'd wait for me for as long as I needed if I would consider going back to him now that he's out and knows what he wants. Being that I still love him, I wrote back that I wanted nothing than to be together. We are writing, talking and paln to see each other soon. I still have to finish school-another 10 months to a year.
