writes: How is depression diagnosed in teenagers? I'm worried that my doctor won't take me seriously as I have smoked some weed recently and I had blood taken. The test results are back, and the receptionist on the phone said that I was clear of stuff that was tested for (glandular fever, diabetes etc.) but I need to give my doctor a call about something. I'm worried she's going to just have a go at me about taking drugs and not actually help me, as I'm pretty sure I have depression, I just can't cope anymore, but she might just say the weed caused it. And also, will she tell my mum?

That won't show up in your blood work unless his looking for it. I had depression for a long time and I found smoking weed help but it could make depression worse in the long run. I still smoke weed, just don't turn to any hard drugs that will really mess you up and can ruin your life. Come to understand what depression is and what triggers it. When you come to know that and get help by going to counselling and medication you will find that it will help.Good luck
