I say on the wedding finger of the left hand, and he says on the wedding finger of the right hand, saying that wearing it on the left finger is bad luck. However, wearing the ring on the wedding finger of the right hand is supposed to signify a widower, and surely this is bad luck too?We have tried to come to a conclusion on this, but both firmly stand our ground for opposing sides- where do we wear our rings? I'd really like us both wearing it on the same finger, and so would he. What do we do for the best?xxx

My boyfriend is getting me just a plain little ring for Valentine's and I would like to know if it is bad luck to wear it on my left ring finger. I always wear rings on that finger but not from a boyfriend. Would that be a risky thing to do?

Its what it symbolizes more so than on what hand you wear it on at the end of the day...
Wear it on what ever hand makes you happy - after all its your ring/hand/life/future......
Best of luck x

* "because all that matters is what it symbolizes" - I mean all that matters is what the actual *ring* symbolizes to *you*!

Hi Anon,
I think that's really sweet!
Even though you said you're going to wear it on your right hand, I don't really see a problem with it on any hand (or finger, really). If you wear it on your wedding ring finger, then at least people will know you're taken. If you wear it anywhere else, it doesn't matter (in my opinion), because all that matters is what it symbolizes, right? :)
(BTW - I also had a commitment ring at one time and I wore it on my left hand. I thought it was more - um - romantic I guess you could say.)
Take care.

I hope my remark was not classed as 'catty'. I just can't get my head around being engaged to be engaged. But when you said a 'commitment' ring it made sense!! D'oh!!!

on the left hand would signify engagement so if you're not engaged you wear it on the right (same finger).
on the right singifies to PROMISE, which is just like an engagement but not completely, just like your case so i say you would wear it on the right otherwise people will think you are oficially engaged.
otherwise wear it wherever you damn well want :)
