The guy ive been flirting with has gone a bit cold, what happened?

I've been flirting with a guy i like and i think he's been fliring back, well anways he's shy and i'm shy but a few weeks ago he had asked me to see a movie with him at his place then asked my roommates (his brother and wife, my friends) to see it too. they were busy so it was just us. anyways i sent him a text the next day telling him i had fun and we should do someting again soon, and he said he wasnt ready for a relationship that he wnated to be friends frist, which was fine with me, but it's been two weeks and he hasnt said much to me....whereas before we'd flirt and talk alot....what happened? i didnt want to scare him off,and i'm not sure. people tell me give him time, but i just don't get what happened. please help!!
