writes: Me and my boyfriend have been together for nearly a month, and I really love him. However, he lives in Kent, and I live in Portsmouth. He's got agoraphobia, so it would be really hard for him to come down here. It's a three-hour journey there, and the same amount of time back, so if I went there it would only be for a few hours, as my parents won't let me stay over there because they haven't properly met him or his family. I love him so much but I don't see the point in carrying on the relationship if we can't see each other. reader, anonymous, writes (24 June 2007): Sometimes distance can be a good thing if both people really want it to work and have an end goal. Believe it or not my boyfriend and I are a little further away - he's in Australia and waiting for me to get out there. It is very tough but if you want something and there is a future you can make it work. Good Luck

reader, anonymous, writes (24 June 2007): hi there, I was recently in a long distance relationship but we decided to break-up as it just wasn't working, but we remain good friends. I think it might be better to try and end the relationship before things turn worse i.e you have arguments about lack of contact and who should travel to see whom. At least if you break-up before the relationship fizzles out, there is a higher chance of you staying good friends, therefore you have not completely lost him. Hope this was of some help
