 Sorry dear, but there isn't much that you *can* do. When someone breaks up with you, whatever the excuse, it's over.
It sounds as if you don't believe the reason that he gave you for breaking up, but that's not the point. What is the point is that he's no longer interested in being with you. That's the only thing that matters (although the truth is nice when you can get it).
Allow yourself to be sad or angry or hurt, or whatever your response is, and then when you're finished, you'll be ready to move on with your life.
Don't try to make him sorry, or act like a wounded party, because that doesn't work. Most relationships that you have end at some point, and this one just did.
Let him go.
