Teachers can just dismiss a confession email, right?

A female United States age 26-29, anonymous writes:

I sent an email to a teacher at my old school, just quickly saying that I have a crush on him. Here is what I put:

"I'm pretty sure you don't know who I am, so you must be wondering what in the world this is. I've got a crush on you. Obviously, I don't expect anything to come out of this and I know I'm crossing some lines here. However, I really need to let this go and move on. Thanks for taking your time to read this and I apologize if I've put you in an extremely uncomfortable position."

I've heard that teachers are supposed to report these kind of things. But I don't want that to happen. I was just simply saying I have a crush on him, and that I want to move on from it. I don't want anything to happen between us. I'm going to a different school this year too. I'd die of embarrassment if he had to. And I know this was a bad idea, and I already regret it. So, will he have to report this email and will I have to get a lecture?

Hey, this is weird I had the same problem I emailed my teacher telling him I had a crush on him. Later that week my tutor spoke to me saying (Mr T) has received a email from you saying ....... I denied that I sent them so the school believed my account was hacked. I didn't feel embarrassed, the school delt with the situation very and im sure yours will. someone will probably speak to you but no other action is taken. Trust me your imagining the worst that could happen. I know how you feel you just want to let him know your feelings but trust me it won't be a big deal. Do you wish you didn't send it now or are you happy you did? Hope this helps and remember don't stop believing...

Oh dear, you shouldn't have done that. I know you already said you regret it so I won't dwell on that, but since you're going to a different school and you're quite young, he might just dismiss it as it's possible young students get a crush on him quite often. But there's still a possibilty he could report it. I'd just prepare yourself for a lecture, but if it happens, don't break down or cry or anything, just act maturely about it, and it will be like it never happened :)
