writes:my mum is gone on Holiday and am at college (NOT uni)ive been tryna find a job soo much but ive not had a any luck yet.the whole week ive been in college and am doing my work.one of our teachers we dont really have to go to his lessons just gotta give him work. which i did.but he marked me absent cos he says that he didn't see my face..but ive been in all the time.. i even said hello to him the corridors:(hes the only teacher that's marked me absent now i wont get EMA. and my mum is not here and i really need the money cos am on my own now.i can feel in absent forms but i need evidence..but cant think of anything.do you think i should talk to my tutor about it??what should I do??

reader, anonymous, writes (19 March 2010): Oh dear, you've both been bitten by your casual attitude to paperwork. Because this teacher is slack, from this day on you should keep a small diary, and write your attendance times in it. You should also write the time and place you submit assignments, as I wouldn't trust a teacher that can't take attendance not to lose work. Similarly with any handouts and notices you receive.Fill in the paperwork contesting the roll. Ask people who say you to make a note of the time and place they saw you, and to retain that note (ie, they keep it, not you). Then list the people and places in your contesting of the teacher's recollection. If the college has cameras, list the times you would have passed through their view.And yes, you should talk with your tutor. There may well be some interesting gossip. And they can help you fill in the paperwork correctly.
