Struggling to get over my first break-up.....

Question - (2 July 2010) 2 Answers - (Newest, 3 October 2010)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Ok, well i just experienced my first break-up 6 months ago and i am still not over him. He has had a girlfriend since but they broke up about a few weeks ago. We have done stuff together while he had this girlfriend. I want to confront him and ask him if he still likes me but i don't want to look desperate... All my friends except a couple say that i should get over him but i love him and i want him... What should I do? Should i try to get over him or should I confront him?

Tell him you still have feelings for him and see how he reacts, but be aware that he will be feeling vulnerable and remember that you did split up before. Watch out he doesn't go for you on the rebound or it will take you even longer to get over it. Your friends are trying to protect you and it is possible they can see things you can't so may be worth asking them why they say get over him.
