So I went to have an sti screening today, just because I wanted to put my mind at rest.

It involved taking a vaginal swab test and a blood test.

When I did the swab she just told me to put it as high as it went, which made me worried I wouldn't do it right so I put it up quite high, and when I took it out the swab had a little blood on it.. i that normal? I'm a bit worried I did it wrong or something. also it stings to pee a bit.

person12345 agony auntWhat kind of quack of a doctor would make you do your own swab? You should get a new doctor and have them do the swab themselves with the speculum in and such.

I can't say why it bled or caused stinging, since your urethra and vagina are separate tubes.

Honeypie agony auntWhy did you do your own swab?

And I think you might have hit your uterus wall or something, a swab (even when hitting high) shouldn't make it sting when you pee - pee comes out your urinary tract not your vagina.
