A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

After reading around the site, and from a personal viewpoint, i have seen a fair number of questions about relationships with step-siblings.

Many of you may think it sounds ridiculous but attraction cannot be helped when you have just met someone new and found out they are related to you. Imagine walking down the street seeing this great guy/gal and finding out you are related to them obviously you are going to be gutted!

I have only known my step brother for little less than a year, we don't see each other as family, but more like close friends, it is understandable that this sort of relationship could lead to other things, but at the end of the day, it cannot be helped if you are aware of feelings towards somebody you never knew who has just been added into your family.

To all the people out there in this sort of situation, i'd like to say you are not the only ones, and before taking things to new heights, think things over, think before you act, and if you are from a family with other siblings, and your step relative isn't set the example and help them get into a normal family life, not a family wreck!
