writes:I,m 18 years old in a few weeks and I,m the youngest in my house. I have an older sister (26) and I feel like her personal slave. everyday I have to clean up after her and Make things for her. She acts like a 5 year old! I could never say no to anything and shes taking advantage of it. She always said she was moving out but she never has and now that I,m at home all the time she makes me do everything for her Clean the house , go to town to pick up her things and takes my money. A Couple of weeks ago she asked me to get her a drink. So i went and I got her one , i handed it to her and was just sitting down when she said " It tastes flat get me another one ". I,m sick of feeling like A Slave I just want to say No but I cant. I want to move out but I have no money. I really need help ( all answers will be appreciated )

reader, anonymous, writes (27 January 2010): By rights, even a slave isn't a doormat. She has no contract over you so you're not required to do shit for her. If you're not comfortable saying no, say "I'll think about it" or "maybe" then she can't say you outright refused. She is taking advantage of you and has no right. I'm a submissive, but if someone tried to dominate me like that I'd tell them to help themselves if they wanted a drink. She was born with 2 hands and 2 feet. If they are still functional then she has no excuse to waste your time.

I would seriously stop doing what she asks. Unless it is your mess don't clean it up. As for getting a drink, well if you are getting one for yourself, sure you can grab one for her, though if hers is flat... tough cookies..
WHY can't you say no? It's not a bad or dirty word.
