All his and my friends noticed and said that we should go out but he never asked me for ages. His girlfriend left him unexpectedly a few weeks before this and I know that he is trying to get over her. I really like him and he asked me out recently but because he didn't ask me out for so long and because he is still getting over her, I don't know if I should go out with him until he is totally over her, especially as he talks about her to me.Should I go out with him?

I think you need to ask him if he is truly completely over her, and then if he says no, tell him to wait and to ask you again when he is. Because you don't want to just replace the old one. You have to know that you are the only girl on his mind. Tell him you can wait until he is ready and to take his time.
He has to be sure its you he wants and not just a girlfriend because he is missing being in a relationship.
You don't want to be the rebound girl remember.
Hope this helps :)
