Should I tell my mom I had a miscarriage with my ex-boyfriend?

A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Since I broke up with my boyfriend of 4 years, it was my mom who has been there for me 24/7 to listen to me and comfort me. She has been my rock. I thank her everyday for untiring love for me. There is one more thing that I haven't told her about what happened to me with my ex-boyfriend in the past. I got pregnant but had a miscarriage due to stress at work. I did not know I was pregnant until I lost it. My mom never knew about it until today. Was it wrong to tell her about? Should I have kept it to myself. I think I hurt her when I told her. I just want her to understand me.

busy04 agony auntOf course it hurt her to know that, she's hurt because you were hurt, this was loss for the both of you. If your mother was there for you in everything else then trust that she's still there for you now. Just give her a little moment to swallow this.

Best of luck to you both...
