I really like this boy, we get quite close and share alot of stuff, but I have low confidense because I'm not exactly pretty, far from it and last time I told a boy that I fancied him he let me down and started dating one of my best friends and I dont want to get the same responce from another lad, what do i do should I just sit it out or tell him, I REALY like him?

claire_x100 agony auntSorry to hear about what your last crush did to u but just remeber not all boys are the same. Try a bit of a flirt see if he does anything back. I agree try an ask for his number see what happens maybe hes scared of asking u out. All i can see is give it ago lifes full of suprises thats what makes it exciting. good luck.

A reader, anonymous, writes (14 September 2006):

True confidence is built from acknowledging failures, then making an effort in building yourself from inside out to possible gain successes. If u base confidence building mainly on people accepting u most of the time, then when you fail to get acceptance, you fall a lot harder than those who have already failed and rebuild their lost esteem through time and experience.

IN other words, just tell him. Getting rejected is the least of life's worries. 8]
