Should I suggest we go on a weekend trip? Or would that be going overboard?

A female United States age 30-35, *sdfg writes:

My bf's birthday is in 3 weeks and he lives 2 hours away. I got him a small gift already and planned to spend about $40.

Well, I'm moving out of my apartment and into my dorm the week before his birthday, but he said he still would like to come up to see me for his birthday weekend. I'll be in my shared room again, which will kind of suck.

Yesterday he posted on his Myspace, "I need a vacation!!!" Now that has me thinking. He already said he wanted to take off his entire b-day weekend. I don't have classes on Fridays or Mondays, giving me from 4pm Thursday-8am Tuesday off. And I know his parents have a travel trailer and he drives the truck that tows it for his family.

We've only been going out for a month, though, and i don't want it to sound too overboard. I know he loves loves loves loves loves going fishing, and we have good trout fishing where I live as its a beautiful area, and its even prettier outside the city near the national park and two national forests. Should I suggest to him that I'll foot up to 4 days at an RV park if he'd like a weekend getaway, since he planned to drive up here anyway for that weekend? This wouldn't just be about his birthday; I would think of it as a chance to really spend time together and give him the opportunity to decompress.

Or is that going a bit too far for a couple who has been in a relationship for only a month (7 weeks as of his birthday)?

Thoughts?
