writes:I started working two weeks ago at a research lab in a university. There I work with a variety of people (post docs, graduate students, undergrads, etc). There is a grad student that I like a lot. We both stare at each other everytime we have a chance. I'm a very shy person and I don;t know what to do. We don't talk to much, everyone is always busy in the lab so there's not much time to talk. What can I do to know if he likes me too. Should I make any move??

ive made so many mistakes in life, not taking risks and missed out on great reltionships and nice guys.
I say get in there ...ever thought he maybe shy too?
How would you feel if he eneded up getting a girlfriend tommorow, get in there when you ahve the chance :)
Next time you see him say hi, maybe even try to get to the lab abit early and hang around outisde so you can have a chat.
Best advice though just be confident, say hi and you'l be chatting more and more each day. Then ask him out after getting to know him.
He might even ask you

reader, anonymous, writes (7 August 2009): I don't know about your lab, but in mine we're always run off our feet and pretty worn out - how about going up to him when he doesn't look too busy and saying you need an emergency coffee and ask if he's can spare 20 minutes anytime soon. Or try bumping into him in the tea room for a chat.

If youve caught him looking at you that is a clear sign he likes you.He might be shy too the best way is to talk to him and after that he should make the next move in asking you out on a date.
You shouldnt rush into anything take it slow get to know him first as a friend then when you know him better youll know if you like him more than that.
