Should I loan my best friend money again?

A female United States age 30-35, *riaz writes:

I've known my best friend Jessica since 3rd grade. She's such a great person, but awful with money! Last year, she asked me to borrow $2k to help with her bills and expenses. I did, because it broke my heart that she was suffering. She didn't really know what to do career wise, for a long time. But now she's working on becoming a teacher. She's in a 1 year credentialing program, so now only works part time. Prior to school, she was working full time as a sub.

A couple of months ago, her father was admitted to the hospital for severe health issues. He currently bounces back forth between the ICU and the regular hospital floor. Obviously, being in the hospital for so long has racked up a lot of bills. She is in a dire financial state, and has asked to borrow money from me again. While I'm in a position where I can help, I'm also a little hesitant to let her borrow money from me again. She has barely begun paying me back the $2k she already borrowed, and now she needs more money. While I could help her and want to, I know I'd never see that money again, and that is still a lot of money. Torn on what to do.
