I never wanted to go to one, but last Friday I got invited and thought I'd go just to see what they were like. I stood around waiting (not knowing who anybody was really) and then I saw two girls who I recognised, from their profile pictures. I went over and asked if they were the people I was thinking of, and they were. They seemed to be nicer and friendlier than they were online, and when I went home, apparently they were saying what a nice guy I was, even the ones who didnt really like me online, and one girl, I heard, wouldnt stop talking about me! Now they want me to go to other meets, and they're even thinking about having one near to where I live.I was just wondering what other readers think of my story, and would they do the same thing? (That was quite a big risk for me!)

tommy2k7 is verified as being by the original poster of the questionThere's a chat meet on tomorrow night.
My friend, who helped me through my break-up with my ex, is not going because they don't like her, but I wont go into that.
But now she tells me I cant be friends with both of them, her or the chatters. What shall I do?

Why did you feel that it was a big risk? Are you shy and lack confidence and were afraid that you would be rejected? I know that I had little confidence in my social skills until I was in my late 30s.
