 no you moved away and tried to make it work but sometimes you can't make it work.
being honest with your ex boyfriend was the best thing you could do.
you did not betray your ex. if you want to date this other fellow then go for it.

You said you fell in love with another guy. If you love him, just go out with him. long distance relationships are terrible for some people. i was with my ex for a year and after i come back to my country, broke up with him in 2 months!!! maybe god will punish us for our misdeeds some day, but for now let's go out and be happy!! :-)
when your ex calms down, don't forget to say sorry and finish it in a good note...that's what i did!
