Should I give him my number?

There's this guy I met a couple weeks ago and we hit it off. I spend quite a bit of time with him because we sail together. He hasn't asked me for my phone number or anything or even to hang out but we always have a lot of fun when we are together while sailing. The only problem is that he'll only be in town for a few weeks more because he is summering in the town I live in (he said that he comes back every summer) should I go for it and give him my phone number without him asking or should I wait? He is a VERY sweet guy and helps me out a lot and he's really cute. HELP!
