The one thing to keep in mind is that over time it will stretch. My friend got hers done about 7 years ago when it first got popular and now she has to buy big bars because the smaller ones fall through because the hole has gotten bigger with time. Infection is pretty rare if done at a nice place. I think it looks cool but it starts to look gross over time when it stretches and once it does it takes forever to close.
Hope i helped.

I would not get this done to please a guy, mostly because for 3 days you cannot eat and lots of people faint when they have it done its one of the most likely piercings to get infected if you do not look after it properly as your mouth has loads of germs in it.
Get it done for you not to please a guy its not a very sexy piercing especially as you only see it when you stick your tongue out and it makes you speak funny.
I would wait awhile and if you still want it then get it dont get it done because everyone else has it or because you think it will please a guy i dont think a guy would be able to tell the diffrence really.

Getting it to please men is never a good reason to have it done in my opinion...get it because you really want it for yourself. I had a body piercing in my 20's (belly button) - it didn't hurt at the time too much, but the infection afterwards was no laugh and I ended up taking it out as I needed antibiotics and there is a scar 10 years later. Your mouth is full of bacteria - good and bad - and what you are proposing to do is an injury so it needs taking care of. It may affect your speech and your senses as your tongue is a very delicate area.
My advice is to wait until you are older and if you still want it done in 2 years then go ahead. Remember you may change your mind when you are older and you would be stuck with that hole in your tongue for life.
