Please help me. The other day I was "hooking up" with this guy, but we didn't have sex (I'm a virgin). I was curious from never doing it before so I put his penis in my mouth and gave him a brief blowjob, only for a few seconds. I wasn't even thinking about having a condom for that and I could taste precum in those few seconds. Now that it's over I know I put myself at risk of sti's and I just don't know what to do. Nobody knows that I was with this guy so I have noone to talk to...

Hey sweetie happy new year

I'm a mental health nurse .. since you have Internet .. type in " walk in gum clinic near me" and it will give you a run down of walk in clinics that's you don't need to make an appointment. You don't need to give your name if you don't want to, and they won't notify your gp.. and you attend during their opening times ..

What they can also do is help you with understanding how these things are contracted and how you can protect yourself .. never feel you have to give a guy anything ..

Here my penny's worth .. If you ain't got a ring .. He doesn't get a thing .. your worth more than a quickie or fumble. .

But if you do decide to at least next time, you'll be more aware and prepared ..

Chin up ..x

I would say that whilst there isn't a very high chance you've caught anything from your brief encounter. You should perhaps book an appointment with your GP just to be sure.

It is a good habit to get into should you be involved in any sexual activity, visiting the sexual health clinics or your GP on a regular basis, especially when you do eventually take the next step.

Most probable you haven't contracted any STI. I would say 95 per cent you are safe, but just to put your mind at ease have a medical checkup.

A male reader, Been there Now over it United States +, writes (31 December 2015):

Yes, you could possibly have a STI from this contact even though it was minimal. You not only had the penis inside your mouth (skin contact can transmit herpes) but there could be other diseases passed to you in the precum.

Chances are that you don't have anything but it is best to get it checked out, especially before doing anything that might pass something on to the next person.

Condoms should always be used but we all know that doesn't happen as you've just proved). An easy and minimal task you should always do before putting a bare penis in your mouth is to look at it first, checking for any signs of 1) sores or other skin abnormalities (which could be herpes), or 2) abnormal discharges that don't look like precum.

You are wise to be concerned about this...thanks for that!

Book an appointment with your GP, as soon as possible. They'll be able to help you. But just because there was no condom, it doesn't mean that you've got an STI.. but its always a good thing to check. and next time, make sure to use protection.
