But I have this persistant thought at the back of my head all the time, and it is this: Should I get a nose job when I am older? Wait! Don't leave my page yet! Here is my argument: My nose is kind of bulgy and has this bump in the middle. It bothers me and makes me self-conscious about my face and my general prettiness. I am not going to make a decision right now or anytime soon, but I just want to know people's opinions, thoughts, experiences, and knowledge about self-love and plastic surgery. I'm not a pro-plastic surgery person in general. I don't believe in needing to alter who we are genetically, unless it's for a decent medical reason.
But I DO understand how you feel. I would suggest you put the thoughts aside til you are at least 21-25 when you have "grown" into your face some more.
None of us are perfect. That is just how we were made. And ther is SO much more to a person then big boobs or a straight nose.

I always hated my nose too, it has a bump in the middle. I was super self-conscious and saved up for a nose job. It didn't help that I got teased for it in middle school. But I never went through with it and I'm happy I didn't. In college I had boys after me up the wazoo and was even picked out by a model scout in a store, despite my bumpy nose. My boyfriend loves that my nose isn't straight. Bobbi Brown the makeup artist says she thinks noses with bumps in them are the most beautiful.
Don't make any decisions about your appearance until at least your mid twenties. Your perception of yourself will change a lot and you'll realize that the Protestant standard of beauty is not the only way to be beautiful. It's impossible to see that in high school, but when you're a bit older and people are less desperate to fit in, you'll see.
I'm not against plastic surgery for some things. If when you hit 22 or so you still REALLY want to change your nose, you should do it. But I think you should definitely wait until well after high school because things change a LOT.

You are right, you are young and you don't have any deep issues in your life. But as you get older, and develop more a sense of self, who you are, what you want, get real life difficulties to deal with etc, well, you wont worry about your nose then.
If you have the money as an adult I think you'll be much happier buying an apartment for yourself than having a nose job.
