Should I follow my heart...?

Question - (16 May 2009) 2 Answers - (Newest, 16 May 2009)
A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I am so crazy about this guy; it took him a while to warm up to me because he has some trust issues. Well I was being impatient and made a remark to him and realized after I said it, I put both feet in my mouth, because it came out like a threat. It pissed him off and he has not treated me the same since and now he still cares for me. I have not felt this way about a guy in over 16 years. Second time falling in love.

(We met online-- have not met yet, but don't act like this is uncommon)

Should I give up on him, because it's been about 3 months and he has not forgiven me, barely will acknowledge me or should I follow my heart and go to his home state to prove to him I'm the same person from day one? I feel in my heart that’s all it’s going to take. Because Like I said before, he cares about me alot and I'm almost certain he loves me just as much as I love him, he's just hurt by my actions. And I have never in my life been wrong about anyone.. my instincts have never let me down. Feedback please!!!

follow your heart. if you fail, you just have to go back and pick yourself up and try to start fresh. if you don't fail, just imagine what you will experience.

my ex and i dated for nearly 4 years. i'm only 20, so yes, i'm young, but it was my first love. and it was what you call great love. we broke it off because things had been too rough for too long, but i came home from university on a random day of the week, surprised him, and showed him how much i still wanted to be with him. and it was the BEST feeling in the world. now, that was almost half a year ago, and unfortunately we ended it a second time for good. not on bad terms, but still. i thought i'd share a similar experience. it is amazing to see how much you care for each other that way. try it out. best of luck to you. and i'm sorry if it doesn't work out, but you'll figure things out. :)
