I started an internship in paralegal studies..I figured it would allow me to network and allow me to get a feel for what a day is like in that field..So far it is has been kind of wierd. I originally met with they attorney that I was going to be interning with at the biginning of September, and from the beginning when we met I told him I am a older student who also work's part time and would like to gain experince in my field of study, I was interested in crimianl law, I told him that I had Monday's and Wednesday's off of my other job and he picked Thursday's and said that was the day that he went to court, so I told him I would re arrange my schedual so I could go to court and observe on Thursday's and he said to get back to him, so I did.

His sec. informed me that they didn't need help at they office that she would let him know I stopped by with they "participation agreement from my college and they would send it back to they appropriate person, so time was passing and I still had not heard from him as far as when I was to start so I assumed that it would be a Thursday in court.. so my school was asking me when I was starting, what my schedual was, I had no anseres so finally, I just showed up for court and that particular Thursday I hadn't changed my schedual at my other job and when I had to leave...could not find "bob" attorney I am doing my internship with anywhere..so I left called they office and told them the situation and asked if he just wanted me to meet him in court seeing I had switched my schedual at my other job..secretart said she would give him the message and that would be fine..ok so go to court following Thursday..it was a really short day and well I thought thing's would be diff.

but I am learning..so the next week he show's up at my day job..which I am a bartender he comes in for a "club soda" and sais, we are going to have a really long day Thursday..so I am thinking..good..I will be able to actually do something..oh and he had told me that I would be heping or he wanted me to talk to this prisoner and find out what the story was..ask him question's..pre screen one of his client's so I am thinking..ok..this is getting better...so I do all this research on the few fact's that he gave me .. and give it to him on Thurs..he is totally uninterested and sais.. oh I will call you on that property development case that I am working on...never heard from him and I was also supposed to go to a town council meeting and he never called..he alway's ask's me the same question's.///are you working tonight?..and I tell him every Thursday..no, and tell him..what I will be doing..like he cares...maybe next time he ask's I should just say no...why do you ask..are you going to give me something to work on?..

I mean was he trying to be my friend by comming into the club? he didnt stay long and I find myself thinking about what he sais way to much .. maybe I should intern for a female attorney so I dont question his motives..he seems like a faithfull guy..am I reading to much into this...I dont know if there are any people reading that currently have intern's but...maybe he just want's to see how I carry myself at my other job?...and the thursday that was supposed to be long wasnt and I find myself falling becuase I am going over what he sais to much in my head..maybe he doesnt want me as an intern because I am to old..and maybe I should just stop caring what he sais if it is not benefitting me..if I say I am going to call or do something..for the most part..I do.

Fom the get go, I have never got a straight answere from him...by the way I am a bartender at a adult entertainment club not that that should matter.what to do?

Well this morning at my internship was short lived due to car prob's and being alittle nervous about driving long distances in my crappy car so...It did go better..learning more and he is actually not a bad guy just very busy and very nice..It is what it is.. I am there for college credit's and exploring the field and where I fit..I am not a lawyer..he is..when I am able to graduate and get out in the field..someday... I think it will pretty much be kind of like a goffer for they attorney's..which I don't mind because I find they issues interesting and I find the way they think interesting and I think I will enjoy the position...some day...It is what It is..he could be complaing that I am not doing enough because I am only there 3 hour's a week and am supposed to be there 10.

I think you are right..it's just so far into the semester now and it's for college credit...agh..maybe I should let it be and go with the flow and be a happy that he is not a complete slave driver and I am still getting the credit's..I mean who know's if he would ever hire me anyway..dont understand and at this point maybe I should just let it go or bug him... I hate bugging people...

I think you should get yourself switched to a different attorney or firm to intern with. He's obviously too busy to teach you. It's res ipsa loquiter.
