 He should just tell her. the worst that could ever happen is she says no. And if she's rude about it and doesn't talk to him again, then why would he want to be with someone like that anyways? Really, it's a win-win situation, she either says yes and he gets the girl, or she says no and he has his answer and can stop worrying about it. And if she is nasty about it then he now knows what kind of person she is and doesn;t have to waste his time anymore.
