The thing is i was in a relationship for a couple of years and before that i didnt do a whole bunch of dating so this is kinda pretty new to me. I havent been with a girl for about 6 months now. I met this girl a couple of weeks ago and i had my first date with her this last wednesday. And well the thing is if it was up to me id invite her every other day to hang out with me and id text her everyday but i dont want to scare her off or make her feel smothered. Like i said i was in a relationship that we did everything together but now this is a new girl and i want to give her some space.On the last date i didnt touch her or anything and i did flirt a little and it looks like we had a connection and she enjoyed herself. How often should i text her so she doesnt think im too needy. I havent contacted her since the date but i was thinking of asking her to go to the movies and dinner this saturday. Since its only friday today, would it be too soon to text her and ask her out for this saturday or even just text her and tell her i enjoyed being with her wednesday? Oh and another ?.. So far we havent even shared a hug or anything since well, we have only gone out once.. so what date would it be ok to ask for a hug or a kiss.

reader, anonymous, writes (25 February 2011): Don't worry about it, you should text her today though. I would have text her the day after the date to tell her how much fun I had and hopefully do it again soon. Nothing major just a thank you for last night and nothing more.
But you should text her today, you don't want her to think you're not that interested. Tell her you had a great night and if she's free this weekend would she like to meet up. Simple and to the point.

you sound like a really sweet guy. I think you should go ahead and text her now let her know you enjoyed the date and that you would like to see her again. Try not to be too distant as you should be letting her no that you are interested. About the hug thing, Everyone's different but maybe try it at the cinema. Go see a horror film or something so she might hug you because she'll be scared. Good luck!
