She was thrilled about going with me. Well, turns out, the boat rental company screwed up my paperwork, and I wasn't able to go out with her on the date as promised (they wouldn't allow me to take the boat out). I called her and apologized, and told her why I had to cancel the date, but she said she still wanted to go boating with me. Now that the paperwork is cleared through, I've tried to talk to this girl about another date. Problem is, she won't return my emails or instant messages (on Facebook). Is she mad at me (even though it was not my fault)? Should I try to call her by phone, or would I seem desperate? Or should I just ultimately quit?

Emilysanswers, I know her computer is not broken since she was online when I tried to contact her. She didn't respond to an instant message (I waited for a reply, and like 15 minutes later, she signed off). A week later, she hasn't responded to a simple message (like an email, not IM) (again, she was online when I sent it).
But I will try to call, I just don't want to seem annoying or desperate.

definitely don't give up. She made an effort and it's time for you to do the same. Give her a call on the phone and talk to her. She'll be happy to hear your voice if you are sincere with apologizing for canceling on her

Her computer may have broken.
