A male , anonymous writes:

Basically, I think this girl likes me but I'm not sure. I'm 20 now and we've known each other since we were young, but never been particularly close friends. I hadn't seen her in a long time, but she's going travelling for 3 months and she invited me and some friends to her leaving party.

We got incredibly drunk - where you could say or do anything without being embarrassed. She insisted on getting my phone number (I only recently got a mobile), gave me her number and email - she said I had to get in touch and she would visit me at uni. She also said that our parents thought we should get together (that's a bit odd). I told her that I really liked her, that I would like us to get together. Anyway we didn't do anything last night - I don't like the idea of getting together when both of you are out of your minds.

Why do I have doubts? Well for a start we were both drunk. She has a boyfriend. Also she was really affectionate with all the blokes there.

Today I decided to text her to see if she wanted to go out for a drink or somthing - no reply. I called round at her house. She was there with her boyfrind and another guy. When I was leaving she followed me out and we had a very brief chat - she said she had got the text but "I think you know the answer" - she sort of blushed when she said it. Again she said she would visit me at uni.

Now of course she wasn't going to go out with me when she has a boyfriend, but I just wanted to let her know that I like her - I've never been close to having a girlfriend before and I didn't want to let fear get the better of me. She never once said explicitly that she liked me - I just want to know I havn't misread the signs.

Sorry, but she has a bf and has given you the answer.

What you need to ask yourself is why you are trying to go out with a woman who has shown a lack of commitment to a current bf. She is not a woman of integrity and not material for a high quality future relationship with you.

Have more self esteem and go and find yourself a nice girl.

Good luck
