i just went out with a friend on a date. i wasnt sure if i liked her or not and as the date went on i didnt. i thought i made it pretty clear that i just wanted to be friends, but now she thinks we are dating. i want to let her down easy because she has had a crush on me for 4 years, and i dont want to completely break her heart. what should i tell her because i still want to remain friends since it was only one date?

AngelofLove agony auntThe kindest thing to do is to put this girl out of her misery and tell her as soon as possible so that she does not get her hopes up any more than already has.

The longer you leave it, the more painful it will be for her.

Should not go out with anyone out of pity, this will hurt her more.

Be as gentle as you can and let her know that you are not into her that way.

That is all you can do.

Take care

kenny agony auntI think in these sort of situations being brutally honest is all you can be. Tell her you only see her as a friend and that nothing more can ever materialise out of this. Sometimes we have to be cruel to be kind, but then i guess its better to tell her how it is than her keep going on thinking you are dating when you are not.

Good luck
