The kindest thing to do is to put this girl out of her misery and tell her as soon as possible so that she does not get her hopes up any more than already has.
The longer you leave it, the more painful it will be for her.
Should not go out with anyone out of pity, this will hurt her more.
Be as gentle as you can and let her know that you are not into her that way.
That is all you can do.
Take care

I think in these sort of situations being brutally honest is all you can be. Tell her you only see her as a friend and that nothing more can ever materialise out of this. Sometimes we have to be cruel to be kind, but then i guess its better to tell her how it is than her keep going on thinking you are dating when you are not.
Good luck
