Question - (18 February 2009) 3 Answers - (Newest, 3 March 2009)
A male Ireland age 51-59, *oeindublin writes:

I have a female friend who loves me, thinks I am the funniest person, loves my cooking loves my company, but does not fancy me and as a result will not be with me.

She will hang out with me 24/7, all the time I wish that she did fancy me because if she ever got married she wishes her husband was exactly like me, apart from she fancied him and on and on:)

Any advice?

you might as well forget about it, meet someone else who shares your same feelings. that should put her in the back burner

No_Nonsense agony auntHey there

I know exactly what you're going through!!! This is a difficult situation because you keep thinking that there might be hope, especially since you and her get on so well!

I guess sometimes chemistry can grow, but for that you'll just have to see what happens.

But don't hold out on anything happening because that might just raise your expectations. Try to go on as friends and enjoy what you do have. It's not always easy, though but if the friendship is important to you then it's worth a try.

AgonyUncleDan agony auntHi,

Why not just accept this person as a best friend, if you keep trying to pursue the issue you may end up driving her away. She obviously just wants a male person to be friends with because she hasnt had a genuine guy and she's using some of the traits you have to picture Mr.Right!
