Does she not want to hurt his feelings or does she not want to end it with him. There is a massive difference.
Im in the same situation as the girl is right now, so i understand where she's coming from.
Try and make sure you don't put any pressure on it all, step back but assure her you'll still be there no matter her desicion. Its a difficult situation, and someone will get hurt, good luck & remember everything happens for a reason :)
