From a girl's point of view: if she said no, then no matter what the excuse, she's just not that into you.
In my experience, regardless of past hurts, future woes, or my hampster being sick- if there's a guy I'm hot for who asks me out, I say yes!

It could be a good thing, if she has had some bad relationships then it is only natural that that she is going to be wary of entering a new relationship. Make a friend of her, go out do things together and show her you are a nice guy and that you intentions are good. SOme of the best relationships start out as friends.
