reader, anonymous, writes (4 June 2009): Wait for her to be ready. I was with my current bf for over a year before I was ready to call us that. I've been in a 4 year relationship and a 2 year one before him both which ended in my getting hurt. When I met him I was going out with my friends and happy how I was, I honestly wasn't ready for something serious yet. I would have given him up in a second back then if there was an ultimatum, but he hung around, showed me he was worth taking the risk and we are moving in together now. Don't get too attached because obviously she's not sure she wants to be off the market, but don't give up on her. She really might just need some time.

Maybe she's still weighing her options, and I wouldn't attach myself to her too much if I were you. this friends with benefits thing is a double edged sword. Who's to say she can't have more than one? watch out for that.
