 I agree, it is a personal thing. Everyone's opinion about sex and 'how soon is too soon' is different. Personally, I would have waited much longer, but this isn't about me.  A week, that's a bit fast.
It looks like he has taken you for a test drive before he decides to stick around.
&& Sex is up to both of you, Not just him, When you're both ready and committed, I would say that's the best time.
