STEP SECOND cousin.. not blood related.
not incest in the legal sense of the word
if you met as adults then I can't see an issue at all unless it would put the family at odds.

That's nature's anti-incest plan. And it would cover what you might call "spiritual" incest. Nature also makes people who are kin but did not grow up with you more sexually attractive than people who aren't kin. That's nature'a plan for keeping you and your chidren fertile. To see what I mean get a copy of this article by the prestigious American Association for the Advancement of Science. An Association between Kinship and Fertility of Human Couples Agnar Helgason et al. SCIENCE vol. 329 no. 5864 February 8, 2008 page 813 – 816Then make up your own mind. Of course there is a lot of prejudice against marrying anybody who is in come way family. Sorry. That is totally misguided and against science, but there is a lot of it out there. I would say go with your heart and let them eat their hearts out. Lots of people probably are living in misery because they didn't marry a blood cousin (third or fouth is probably ideal)and will never get over the pain. All the best luck and happiness to both of you.
