Well the night before last he calls me like he's been and was distracted by a family member and said he call me back in 20 minutes, but didn't. I let it go and called him the next night and left a message. It's the day after and still nothing, and to top it off its valentines day. I'm actually disappointed and hurt. Am I overreacting? This is a hard one. Chances are (and this is what I would believe in this case, and from the information you ahve given), that he has got cold feet and bottled it. You have left a message so the ball is now firmly in his court. Dont ring him again 'cos then it would seem like you are desperate or trying to hard.
If something has happened to make it awkward or difficult for him to get in touch (such as a problem with a family member) he will get in touch when it is convenient for him. So dont pursue him, he will come back in his own good time.
I hope things work out for you the way you want them too.
