Relationship with twin sister is in jeopardy

Question - (15 September 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 16 September 2009)
A female Canada age , *aura G writes:

I have a twin sister and we used to be very close but since my mother passed away January 2008 we have become distant. My sister makes me feel useless and she is controlling. She is the leader and unfortunately I am a follower. I have tried to talk to her and explain I don't appreciate the way she treats and talks to me. My sister doesn't see this, but my husband and my father do and yet neither one of of them says anything to her. How can I convince my sister that our relationship is in jeopardy? It seems to bother me more so than her.

I have the exact same situation. I finally quit talking to her after giving her a piece of my mind. Three months later she called to apologized. She hasn't changed a bit.

You just have to be FACTUAL--not emotional--and direct. If she tells you what to do about something, either ignore it and move onto the next subject or tell her you do not want to discuss that.
